Transfer Station Access Cards

NOTICE:
The Transfer Station Card program is on hold.

Residents will not be required to use the cards at the transfer stations at this time.

Due to technical issues, Yellowhead County has put the main Transfer Station Card program on hold. However, residents can use their cards for free dumping at the Edson Landfill*.

We apologize for any confusion. We are working to make the system workable for our residents. Further details will be provided at a later date.

If you have received a card at this time, please hold on to it until the full system is implemented at a future date. Once the system is ready, we will send out more information regarding card details, such as adding additional users, tenant cards, etc.

Once the new system is fully operational, there will be a transition period to ensure appropriate notice is provided to all Transfer Station users.
*PLEASE NOTE: You can take a photo of your card on your phone and use that, along with a piece of government-issued ID, to access the Edson Landfill Station at this time. Please ensure the QR code on the card is legible for scanning.

Why is the County making this change?

Yellowhead County Council has recognized the need to provide controlled access to ensure that only County residents use the County transfer stations. This system will eliminate unlimited and unauthorized dumping of waste from non-residents, which will reduce costs and save tax dollars. The system still allows Yellowhead County residents to access waste disposal and recycling services at no charge.
